I would wake up early in the morning, before the sun would come up. In search of something, something that I have never had. Something I was trying to get. It brings to mind, Matthew 13:45-46, seeking after this great and valuable pearl. I would beat the sun to the water and as it came up shining on my face, I would cast my fishing line over and over. As I think back over my fishing trip and the many times I had to force myself to leave the water. I would often say to myself “just one more cast” and “I just might hook into the big one!”
Jesus saw something in fishermen, was it their patience, was it the skill or was it the willingness that fishermen have to go after the catch no matter the bugs, heat or waves? God seems to have these characteristics; He never stops pursuing us (just one more cast).
Paul is one of my heroes, a spiritual giant, what a catch! When we look at the actions of Saul (Paul) our reaction to this man is totally opposite of the Lord’s. He pursued this man kind of like a fisherman chasing a stinky fish. After caught and cleaned up it is so valuable. The outcome of (just one more cast). Read: I Timothy 1:12-17 NKJV
I hope to encourage you, either if God is pursuing you or He is using you to real one in, don’t give up! It can get rough at times but stay focused on the prize, your soul and their souls. God is encouraging and showing us that it pays off to make one more cast. You just might hook into the big one!
I can’t wait to see you!
