Rise and Shine

I appreciate Monty for filling in the bulletin for me while I was gone to Austin last week. (Of course, we all know Doris actually does all the work, including the filling in! Love you, big sister!) Anyway, it’s good to be back, although I did enjoy the short visit I had down there. Brother Williams is an outstanding brother in Christ and I feel like we’ve been fortunate to have had him involved with Parkway over the last three years.

He actually coordinated most of the Lectureship himself and has still been quite busy filling CD and tape requests after the program. I am sending for one of the CDs myself. It includes my own lesson plus all the lessons that were presented that day. Actually, that is the only way they can be ordered since that was the way they were recorded, according to my understanding. Anyway, if you would like some information on some of the titles and speakers that were presented, just let me know and I’ll be glad to get that to you. They were outstanding!

“Fishers of Men” in 2010! That is our theme for this year and we have already been given a lot of incredible contacts to help us accomplish that task. As a matter of fact, if you would like to help with Bible studies and other outreach follow- ups please let either Monty or myself know. Monty has collated a huge list that we have already begun to work, but more help would be appreciated. Colossians 4:5 says to “Conduct yourselves with wisdom toward outsiders, making the most of the opportunity.” But before it says that, verses 2-3a say, “Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving; (3) praying at the same time for us as well, that God will open up to us a door for the word.” We’ll be doing a lot of praying about this and all of us this Sunday night. C U then!
