“When we walk with the Lord, In the light of His word, What a blessing He sheds on our way!”
The words of the song come to mind when we spend the Lord’s Day with the Lord. There is nothing greater that we can do to gain a foretaste of Glory than to assemble with the saints on the Lord’s Day to sing God’s praises while we teach and admonish one another in spiritual songs that lift us up to a “higher plane.” Then we pray together, partake of the Lord’s Supper in memory of the One who died for us, was buried and rose again to His Glory, then to give back to Him Who has so bountifully given to us; and to be lifted up by a spiritual lesson from His Word, and pour out our hearts in prayers to Him Who is our dearly beloved Father, because He loves us so much. Last Sunday following the morning worship, we enjoyed a fellowship meal with loved ones in the Lord. Later spent time preparing for the evening hour of worship, followed by our meeting with the Classics hosting the Youth of Parkway with a Sweetheart Dinner. These were our activities last Lord’s Day. No wonder God said, “Not forsaking the assembling of yourselves together, as the manner of some is” (Heb. 10:25). What a great day of blessing - Look what we would have missed! “Rejoice in the Lord alway; and again I say ‘Rejoice’ “ (Phil. 4:4, and v. 7), “ And the peace of God which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
Love you, David V. Fultz
