In Eph. 4: 1-3 we are told, “I...beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation (or calling) wherewith ye are called, with all lowliness and meekness with long-suffering, forbearing one another in love; endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace”.
This is our duty as followers of Christ. Togetherness or unity is a must for all who hope to reach heaven. As Paul goes on to say, there is one body or church (Eph. 1:22-23; Col. 1:18), one Spirit (Rom. 12:3-4), one Hope (Eph. 4:4), one Lord (Eph. 4:5; 1 Cor. 1:13), and “one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, Who is above all, and through all, and in you all” (Eph. 4: 5, 6). What a wonderful summary this is of the unity or oneness that must exist among us who are Christians. As the Psalmist declares, “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!” (Psa. 133:1) This can only be attained by following the apostle Paul’s declaration in 1 Cor. 1:10: “Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that ye be perfected together in the same mind and in the same judgment.” This can be only on the truth of God’s word as Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man cometh unto the Father but by me” (John 14:6). It is a shame that the whole
denominational “Christian” world is divided into so many groups when we can find the right one by going to what the Bible teaches. 2 Tim. 3:16-17 tells us that “all Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness; that the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.”
