Rise and Shine
Our Summer Series continues this Wednesday evening with
Dewey Howard from the Green Lawn church of Christ.
Dewey has been the Education Minister at Green Lawn for
several years and has done and continues to do outstanding
work for them. I look forward to hearing him speak.
Thank you for the positive comments about the lesson on
“Improving Marital Skills” last Lord’s Day. Someone rightly said
that “we need more lessons along this line.” I’ll have to say
“Amen!” to that. Just like driving requires both a license and a
continuing test to see if your skills are up-to-date, so should
marriage, in my opinion. Anyway, thanks for the comments.
This Sunday morning we will consider “Improving Parental
Skills.”
And, speaking of thanks, I want to thank David Daniels for
conveying the appreciation of the Green Lawn church for my
participation in their Summer Series. (I think they had as many
in their Wednesday night class as we do in our Sunday morning
worship!) Anyway, I’m sorry I missed that moment of recognition
but I was still feeling a little woozy from the bus ride
from Austin because of my motion sickness and so, after I
preached, I went in my office to sit down and blow some air in
my face for a minute. I really didn’t start getting back to normal
until the next morning, but I’ve got to tell you that the trip
to Austin was worth it. Even though we didn’t get to participate
in the first day’s sessions, we did get to on Saturday and
we were blessed by both that and the fellowship we had as
we went through our little ordeal. We learned the literal meaning
of James 1:2.
See you Sunday! Ron

We want to provide you a church home... a home with family members that
you will find supportive and loving under the leadership and example of
Christ. Here, you will find hands to help you, and opportunities for you to
help others. Here you will find voices to laugh and to sing with; as
well as shoulders to cry on. Here, you will learn more about God,
Christ, His church, and the family he established for us, all in the
example of love that Christ has given to each of us.
VALUES STATEMENT
We are a body of redeemed people who value:
God our Father, Christ our Savior,
The Spirit of Truth, the body of Christ,
the institution of the family,
and the souls of all mankind.
MISSION STATEMENT
Our purpose is to reach out locally and universally
to prepare people of all ages and races to:
worship humbly, evangelize personally,
serve actively, fellowship lovingly,
to the glory of God.
VISION STATEMENT
Our goal is to become a unique church of values, mission
and vision: which effectively ministers to all people; which grows in spirit and love; where every
Christian can serve and worship; where all people are welcome; where our Lord leads and we
follow.
