THE BEST ADVICE
When Jesus was asked, “Which is the first commandment
of all?” He replied, “The first of all the commandments
is ‘Hear, O Israel, The Lord our God is one Lord;
and thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart and
with all thy mind, and with all thy strength; this is the first
commandment. And the second is like it, namely this,
Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. There is none other
commandment greater than these” (Mark 12: 29-31).
When we learn to love one another as God has loved us,
we have come to that state of perfection that brings us
out of this sinful world to God, Who is love. As John tells
us in I John 4:16, 17, “And we have known and believed
the love that God hath for us. God is love, and he that
dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. Herein
is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in
the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this
world.” When we come to the place that we love our
brother as God has loved us, we have reached that place
of joy and peace, “...which passeth knowledge, that we
might be filled with all the fullness of God” (Eph. 3:19).
This can be found only in the church of which Jesus Christ
is the head. (Eph. 3:20-21) “Now unto Him that is able to
do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think,
according to the power that worketh in us. Unto Him be
glory in the church of Jesus Christ throughout all ages,
world without end. Amen.”
