THE RIGHT DECISION

Most of us are familiar with the story of Ruth who was a Moabite, yet left her family and all she had to go with her mother-in-law, Naomi, an Israelite, saying, “Entreat me not to leave thee, or return from following after thee: for whether thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, will I lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God, my God. Where thou diest, will I die, and there will I be buried: the Lord do so to me, and more also, if aught but death part thee and me.” (Ruth 1:16)

In this scripture, it was the part “thy God shall be my God” that is the most significant. Because of this she became the great grandmother of David, the king of Israel and was listed in the lineage of Christ, (Matt. 1:5) Who is “the King of Kings, and Lord of Lords.” (Rev. 17:14; 19:16) Ruth had a wonderful life when she gave up all to follow God, and so can we. Jesus said, “Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me, for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” (Matt. 11:28- 30)

Why is this so? Because He will bear all our burdens for us. When we give our lives totally to Christ as Ruth did to God, we will find perfect peace, now and forever. (Phil. 4:6-9) “But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine delivered unto you. Being made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.” (Rom. 6:17,18)
