Rise and Shine

I appreciate Van Norris’ response and expressed desire last Sunday. Pease take a moment while you are here to try and say an encouraging word to him. I know he will be blessed by it.

I don’t know about you, but these last two weeks have been the busiest weeks of my year so far, or, at least it sure feels that way! I wanted to comment on a couple of things that I didn’t get to last week.

First, I wanted to comment on the Teacher’s banquet from a couple of weeks ago. Once again the Hinds had an encouraging evening in store for us with Joe Marshall doing an excellent job of relating our educational system in its historical context. His message was quite an encouragement. Then it was nice, once again, to have received special recognition for our efforts as teachers. It was great to see Louise Price receive the teacher of the year award. It was certainly appropriate and well-deserved. I only wish she could have been there to receive it, but her recent surgery had kept her home. Congratulations to Louise and thanks to all our teachers who put out a lot of extra effort in imparting God’s word. Second, I want to thank all who participated in our all-church fellowship last Sunday. Even though we had quite a few out of town, we had a great turnout. Third, once again we have an opportunity to participate in a doorknocking effort for Parkway this coming Saturday, May 3. Most of you will receive your bulletins as reminders before then so either come and help us in person or pray for our efforts. We will meet in the Fellowship Room and then begin at 1:00PM and go for only about 90 minutes. See you Sunday!

Ron

We want to provide you a church home... a home with family members that you will find supportive and loving under the leadership and example of Christ.  Here, you will find hands to help you, and opportunities for you to help others. Here you will find voices to laugh and to sing with; as well as shoulders to cry on. Here, you will learn more about God, Christ, His church, and the family he established for us, all in the example of love that Christ has given to each of us.

VALUES STATEMENT

We are a body of redeemed people who value:

God our Father, Christ our Savior,

The Spirit of Truth, the body of Christ,

MISSION STATEMENT

Our purpose is to reach out locally and universally

to prepare people of all ages and races to:

worship humbly, evangelize personally,

serve actively, fellowship lovingly,

to the glory of God.

VISION STATEMENT

Our goal is to become a unique church of values, mission

and vision: which effectively ministers to all people; which grows in spirit and love; where every

Christian can serve and worship; where all people are welcome; where our Lord leads and we

follow.
