THE BEST YOU CAN BE
“And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the
ungodly and sinner appear?” (1 Pet. 4:18) God requires
of each of us as Christians to be our very best. It does
not matter what all the others about us are doing, He still
requires our best from each of His own.
As in the days of
Noah when all the world was destroyed, or in Sodom
and Gomorrha when only Lot and his wife and two daughters
were found righteous and were delivered, but the
rest of the population of the cities were destroyed, as is
brought out in 2 Pet. 2:5-9. We must rise above all the
wickedness that is going on about us and be faithful unto
God. We know that no person can withstand God, nor is
wiser than He is. He created us and gave us everything
we have and are. Even when we, as Christians, have
sinned against Him, as in the case of Simon the Sorcerer
in Acts 8:9-25, we need to repent and ask for
forgiveness. If you are not a Christian, then you need to
believe in Jesus as the Christ, the Son of God (John
3:16), repent of your sins (Luke 13:3), confess Jesus as
the Son of God (Rom. 10: 9-10), be baptized into Christ
(Rom. 6:1-6), and live a faithful life unto Him (Rev. 2:10).
The wonderful life we have in Christ lasts forever. God is
our pilot Who leads and guides us all the way so we
have nothing to fear. Even death opens the door to an
eternal home that is beyond compare to anything this life
has to offer. Why not choose Him now, or if you have left
Him come back to Him today?
Love you, David V. Fultz
