JESUS IS LORD
We should never rebel against God. Jude v. 11 speaks of those
who do, “Woe unto them! For they went in the way of Cain, and
ran riotously in the error of Balaam for hire, and perished in the
gainsaying of Korah.” Recently I have reread all of these accounts,
and in each case it was devastating to each individual.
You may
read their experiences, about Cain in Gen. 4:1-15, about Balaam
in Num. 22:15-19; 25:1-5 and 31:16, and that of Korah in Num.
16:1-35. These are examples given unto us that we should not
rebel against Christ whom God sent to reveal Himself unto us. Christ
stated in Matt. 28:18, “All authority hath been given unto me in
heaven and on earth.” Paul also wrote in Eph. 1:19, “and what is
the exceeding greatness of His power to us who believe according
to the working of His mighty power, which He wrought in Christ,
when He raised Him from the dead, and sat Him at His own right
hand in the heavenly places....and hath put all things under His
feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church which is
His body, the fullness of Him that filleth all in all.” There is no other
power or authority in the church than Jesus Christ. We have His
unerring and unchangeable Word to lead and to guide us, as it
was God’s Word to be obeyed by Cain, Balaam and Korah, and as
Jude wrote in v. 3, “...I was constrained to write unto you exhorting
you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once delivered
unto the saints.” Do not follow men who will lead you astray. Follow
Christ who is revealed to us in His Word, the Bible.
Love you, David V. Fultz
