LITTLE CHILDREN
“..There were brought to Him little children, that he should
lay His hands on them, and pray; and the disciples rebuked
them.”
There can be no question that Jesus has always been
attractive to little children and that Jesus wants them to
come to Him. He was never too busy to pay attention to
them, and we should never be. When a mother spends
her time with her children, holding them and teaching
them stories from the Bible about Jesus, she is doing
the greatest service she can do for the home, the church
and the nation.
When a church lays emphasis on the teaching of the
Bible to little children, it will find that it is not only providing
for future growth, but also that more members are
kept busy in it’s present growth. One of the great reasons
is, as Jesus said in Matt. 18:3, “Verily I say unto
you, ‘Except ye turn and become as little children, ye
shall in no wise enter into the kingdom of heaven.’ “ and
“Whosoever, therefore, shall humble himself as this little
child, the same is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.”
What a challenge! Brethen, we need to get busy and fill
the busses we have with all the little children who live
around us, and be teaching them! If we do this, “The
angels of heaven will be happy” (Matt. 18:10), we’ll make
Jesus happy, we will be happy and we will be saving
souls.
Love you, David V. Fultz
