Rise and Shine 

The Worship committee meeting was really encouraging last Sunday afternoon. What we realized was that our committee represents most, if not all, of the major areas that the Church Health Team discussed during their meetings and we can all have a significant impact on the goals they suggested.

I think you will soon see why I’ve been saying that 2008 promises to be one of Parkway’s best years yet. The truth is that it is only a little over three weeks away, so please be praying that we will be able to both finish planning the work and then go on to working the plan with God’s help and for His glory! This coming Lord’s Day morning we will consider “The Baptism that Saves.” Sunday night we will continue our short series on “JESUS: The Reason for All Seasons.” This study of the superiority of Christ as seen in the first four verses of Hebrews is extremely enriching. Our faith rests in Jesus, the Son of God, and it is good to look closely at the details of what the Holy Spirit said about our Lord. I would appreciate it if you could continue to keep Jordan on your prayer list. He is still weak, but slowly recovering at home. He will be participating in LISD’s “Homebound” program until the end of the year as he attempts to catch up with all the studies he has missed due to his illness. Please keep him in your prayers as he goes through this process and, if you don’t mind, please add two others to that list. My other two children, Jodie and Richard, are planning to head this way shortly and spend a little time with us during the holidays. Thanks for your help with this. See you Sunday!
