A CHRISTIAN’S ATTIRE
One of the greatest blessings we have each week is
when we assemble together on the first day of each
week to worship the “King of kings and Lord of lords;
Who only hath immortality, dwelling in light unapproachable,
Whom no man hath seen, nor can see; to Whom
be honor and power eternal” (1 Tim. 6:15, 16). As He
has said, “For where two or three are gathered together
in my name, there am I in the midst of them” (Matt.
18:20).
We come together on the first day of the week to
“...break the bread” (Acts 20:7), and to “...drink the cup
of the Lord..” (1 Cor. 11: 23-26). We also give as we
have been prospered (1 Cor. 16:1-2), to pray and teach
or preach God’s Word (Acts 2:42), all in worship to God,
according to His Word.
It is good to see those who lead in that worship dress
neatly and in respect of the one Whom they have come
to worship, the King of kings and Lord of lords. Sure,
there are times we can worship without “dressing up”,
but when we come together to worship Him, especially
on His day, the Lord’s Day, does it not show the world
what we think of our Lord and Master, that we dress
and look our best?
God has always demanded man’s reverence and respect
in His presence (Psalms 111).
We commend those at Parkway Drive for doing so,
and others have also commented about it. Please note
the instruction that God has given for both men and
women concerning what they should do and wear in 1
Tim. 2:1-15. Unto Him be all honor and glory both now
and forever!
Love you, David V. Fultz
