SALVATION
In the Old Testament, the book of Isaiah gives a description
of Jesus as He was to come into the world.
“He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows,
and acquainted with grief; and we hid as it were our
faces from Him; He was despised and we esteemed
Him not.” (Isa. 53:3)
Isn’t it strange that those whom God had revealed Himself
to in so many ways and for so long would not recognize
Him when He came into the world, and then
would even go so far as to crucify Him! Yet this is what
men did to Him two thousand years ago and what many
are doing to Him today.
He bore the sins of all of us when He died upon the
cross. Philip the evangelist explains this scripture and
teaches the eunuch of Ethiopia in Acts 8:26-39 .
Will you not turn to this scripture, read it, and then do
what the eunuch did that you might be saved? He believed,
repented and was baptized for the remission of
his sins (Acts 8:37, 38; 2:38).
God has loved us so much that He sent His own Son
into the world to die for us, although knowing that He
would be rejected and crucified. It was the only way our
sins could be atoned for. He loves us so much, and He
does not want to see any of us die without Him. Won’t
you come to Him today and live for Him?
Love you, David V. Fultz
