THE LORD WANTS YOU
“The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness; but is long suffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance” (2 Pet. 3:9).
Think what a wonderful statement this is for everyone;
that God loves each of us so much that He has
allowed time to pass so that we would have the opportunity
for our salvation. And at what awful cost —
the sacrifice of His own Son, Jesus Christ on the
cross that we might be saved (John 3:16; 1 John
4:8-10). The love of God extends to each of us, and
each must come to Him for salvation. No one else
can do this for us. We must each obey the gospel of
Christ in order to be saved by Him (1 Pet. 4:17).
That gospel we must believe and obey is concerning
the death, burial and resurrection of Christ (1
Cor. 15:1-4). We then repent of our sins (Acts 3:19),
confess our faith in Him as the Son of God (Rom.
10:9-10), and be buried by baptism in the likeness
of His death, burial and resurrection for the remission
of our sins (Rom. 6:3-4 and Acts 2:38).
Then as a newborn babe in Christ continue to grow
in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and savior
Jesus Christ (2 Pet. 3:18). You are now a member
of the church of Christ (Acts 2:47), and are to worship
Him in Spirit and in truth (John 4:24). We are
willing and ready to assist anyone who would like a
further study of God’s Word.
Love you, David V. Fultz
