THE GREAT FAMILY REUNION
A family reunion is a great way to spend a few days! There are always some present that we did not expect to see or that we have not seen for several years, and others that have been added to the family, by marriage or birth, since we last met together. It is always a joyous occasion, unless there is someone who comes in without an invitation and creates a disturbance.
One day the church family will all be gathering home. This will
be the redeemed of all ages, and all races. There will be no
difference, except that those who are saved will be those who
have been obedient to God during their life times. From the
time of Adam and Eve, this has been true. Under the Patriarchal
Law, those obedient families like that of Noah and
Abraham will be there. Those who were obedient to the law
given through Moses will be there. And those who have lived
faithful and obedient lives under the Law of Christ will be there.
These are the saved that have been redeemed by the blood
of Christ and have received the promise of eternal life with
Him (Col. 2:14).
Under this Law of Christ, which is our guide, we have the command
to see that everyone has the opportunity to hear the
gospel of Christ so that they may be saved (Matt. 28:18-20;
Mark 16:15-16). Those who hear and obey and live faithfully
unto death, are the ones who will be present at that great
reunion in Heaven. God wants us all to be there at that last
great day and to be with Him forever.
But no sin can enter Heaven. Have you been redeemed from
your sins by the blood of Christ? Have you been born again
into the family of God (John 3:3-5)? Do you believe in Him
(John 3:16; Heb. 11:6)? Have you repented of your sins (Luke
13:3)? Have confessed your faith in Christ as the Son of God
(Rom. 10:10)? Have you been baptized into Christ (Gal. 3:
26-29)? And are you now living a faithful life in God’s family
(Rev. 2:10)?
Love you, David V. Fultz
