WHEN WE ASSEMBLE
In Eph. 4:32, the apostle Paul wrote “and be ye kind
one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other,
even as God also in Christ forgave you.”
Kindness is a quality that can help us overcome every
difficulty. A kind act is seldom forgotten; it shines
like a light in the world, as when Mary anointed the
feet of Jesus with the precious ointment and dried
them with her hair in John 12:1-8. Every kind act
that we do is remembered by God through all eternity.
Consider what He says in Matt. 25:34-40. We
treasure the kind deeds of departed loved ones, and
hold them in our memory. It was, “...when the kindness
of God our Savior, and His love toward man
appeared, not by works done in righteousness, which
we did ourselves, but according to His mercy He
saved us, that being justified by His grace, we may
be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life”
(Titus 3:4-7).
It is this kindness and love of God that causes us to
turn to Him knowing that He will love us and care for
us now and through all eternity. Remember, He has
said, “Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy
laden, and I will give you rest” (Matt. 11:28). We can
cast all our care upon Him because He cares for us
(1 Peter 5:7). Christ has become the author of salvation
to all who obey Him (Heb. 5:9).
Love you, David V. Fultz
