A CALL TO HEIGHTS

In Psalms 121:1-2, the Psalmist declared, “I will lift up mine eyes unto the mountains; From whence shall my help come? My help cometh from Jehovah, Who made heaven and earth.”

Last weekend several of the Classics group made the trip to the Golden Agers Camp at Blue Haven in the Sangri de Cristo mountains of New Mexico. What a wonderful experience it was as we enjoyed the fellowship of 64 seniors of those of like precious faith. We also heard lessons from the books of Hebrews, Romans, Peter and Jude given by Bro. Paul Shero, lessons that stirred our hearts and souls.

GOD’S GREAT LOVE

Jesus said, “If a man love me, he will keep my word; and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him and make our abode with him” (John 14:23). The Bible is that inspired word of God, which we must hear, believe, and obey in order to be saved and so that He will come and abide with us (2 Tim. 3:16-17).

JESUS IS WITH US

We sometimes forget that the same command Jesus gave to His disciples just before He left them to go back to the Father is a command for us today, also: “Go ye therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit; teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the world” (Matt. 28:19, 20).

In Proverbs 25:11, Solomon declared, “A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in network of silver.” No doubt in this statement Solomon was speaking of God’s Word. There is nothing that stands out more, in all that is said or written than the Word of God. The Bible is unique among all the books that have ever been written.

Jesus Wept | Print |

JESUS WEPT

That Jesus suffered much, there can be no question by any student of the Bible or of history. However, we have only two instances where we are told that He wept. One was at the tomb of His friend Lazarus in John 11:35, and the other when He told what was to happen to Jerusalem and it’s people at the time that it was to be destroyed, in Luke 19:11-44 and chapter 13:34-35.
