Rise and Shine

Jesus was an incredible man. He even emphasized His humanity quite often by referring to Himself as son of man. He seems to have wanted us to know that He could totally empathize and sympathize with our human condition. You may remember what Hebrews 4:15 says: “For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin.” There is no doubt that Jesus faced the same type of trials and temptations that we face.

Thank You

The elders want to thank each of you who responded to the request for contributions to fund the replacement of our roof above your weekly contribution. A contribution of $6,876.00 for the roof was given last Sunday. Those who were not ready to contribute, or possibly were not here last Sunday, will be given another opportunity on September 5 to do so. Work is scheduled to begin September 7.

We want to express our thanks to you for the comforting words of sympathy, memorial to the Children’s Home, prayers, cards, and phone calls during our recent bereavement. May God bless each of you. The Vanderveers

Thank you to everyone for all the love and support of our marriage. Special thanks to all the hostesses for the beautiful wedding shower. We appreciate everything and pray God to bless all of you. Love, Kyree, Kendra & Ernest Cortez

KIT Group #2 (Daniels)

... Will meet Sunday, September 5, after evening worship. Menu is whatever you like to have for Sunday night supper.

Ladies Day:

Ladies Day is September 25. We are trying to arrange it so that all the ladies will be free to attend the event. In order to do this, we are in need of any men who would be available to help in the kitchen. Please let Debra George (747-2371) know if you can help with this. We need at least six volunteers.

Ladies: The meeting last Sunday had to be rescheduled. The Lethridges went to Dallas to check on a grandson, Robert Lethridge, who had been in an accident. Please plan to meet with Velma for a few minutes after morning worship on September 5 to wrap up plans for our Parkway Ladies Day.
